'It’s All About Colour' is Rosemary Abrahams’ latest exhibition at Gallery Forty-Nine. The exhibition will showcase a variety of new paintings, mainly landscape and abstract works, revealing her love of texture and design.

Rosemary Abrahams' preoccupation with paint effects and surface texture runs through all aspects of her work. The result is a body of work with discernable common features, but which manifests infinite variety in its realisation.
Influences throughout Rosemary’s life have included Ben Nicholson, Terry Frost, The St. Ives School, Matisse from the French Impressionists, the New York Expressionists – especially Rothko and Rauchenburg. Her artwork continues the tradition of abstract expressionism into today’s art world.
Rosemary was a student at Leeds College of Art in the 1960s. Her career as a painter for many years ran parallel to her other activity, that of leading a design studio with a worldwide client base with her husband, John French. This led to work in many countries, designing for a wide variety of home and fashion products. These included hand made rugs in Nepal, jute products in Bangladesh, ceramics in Europe, carpets in the USA and many more.
